Domestic Family Violence Specialist 

  • Employment Term: Full-time, Permanent Opportunity (76 hours per fortnight)
  • Location: Rockhampton/Woorabinda
  • Remuneration: $102,554 + 11% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging

Your part in our UnitingCare Community team 

A unique partnership between Central Queensland Indigenous Development (CQID) and Uniting Care sees an opportunity for a passionate and innovative Domestic and Family Violence Specialist to be a key part of providing Intensive Family Supports in Central Queensland (Rockhampton/Woorabinda). Whilst reporting to part of Uniting Care, the Domestic Family Violence Specialist role, will sit and operate from CQID premises, working closely alongside CQID to support the wellbeing of First Nations Families and communities.

This role has responsibility for leading DFV informed practice within the service by balancing and supporting frontline practitioners in delivering DFV informed responses to families, direct client engagement, professional development and training opportunities for the team and some direct client engagement. You will assist CQID and UnitingCare to build and maintain relevant stakeholder relationships within the local community as part of the integrated service response in the region. You will also work in collaboration with the CQID wellbeing and support services, as well as supporting the day-to-day operations and the ongoing practice improvement activities for the IFSS CQ program

What makes a difference for us? 

The successful candidate will need a passion for working with children and families, possess relevant tertiary qualifications, supplemented by significant experience in DFV practice, and have working experience in providing services to children and families. 

You will also possess the following: 

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and licensing requirements associated (e.g. Domestic & Family Violence Act 2012, Child Protection Act 1999) 
  • Knowledge and understanding of current domestic and Family Violence frameworks and reforms (e.g. The QLD DFV Common Risk and Safety Framework, QLD DFV Prevention Strategy 2016-2026) 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Current Drivers Licence 
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
