Due to the increase in projects and transition to owner-operators, we are seeking a passionate Drill and Blast Engineer to join our new Mobile Maintenance team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Drill and Blast Engineer is responsible for creating daily and weekly drill designs and tie-in plans, as well as preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports. The goal is to maximize productivity and profitability for all open pit mining operations.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Develop daily drill plans and tie-in designs with input from all stakeholders, aligning them with the weekly plan.
- Investigate variances from targets and take corrective action to address shortfalls.
- Support the Drill and Blast Specialist with production statistics, drill logs, and explosives reporting.
- Conduct routine inspections of drill patterns to track progress and identify issues affecting the weekly schedule.
- Monitor the quality and performance of the DRILL AND BLAST fleet and assist the Production Engineering department as needed.
ABOUT YOU
- At least 12 months of Engineering experience within the Mining Industry. (Essential)
- Tertiary Degree and subsequent qualifications relevant to Mining Engineering (Essential).
- Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).
- Experience within the Drill and Blast (Desirable)
- An understanding of mine planning, mining engineering and geology roles and functions. (Desirable)
- Working knowledge of relevant mining applications e.g. MPX, MS Excel, Surpac and ShotPlus. (Desirable)
