THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Mining Production department has created 6 new Drill & Blast opportunities as part of our continuing business growth. As such, we’re currently looking for motivated Drill & Blast Quality Assurance (QA) Technicians.

As a valued member of our Drill & Blast team, you’ll be primarily responsible for drill hole Quality Assurance and record-keeping; delivering objectives in a safe and efficient manner.

This is a permanent full-time position on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Checking drill holes for Quality Assurance.
  • Accurately recording drill depths and any anomalies (recording Dip Data before and after loading).
  • Setting out drill holes, marking re-drills, and backfilling.
  • Assisting Surveyors and D&B Engineers, as well as our contracting partners.
  • Communicating with Supervisors regarding clean-up of drill patterns.
  • Inspection of work areas and equipment for hazards, malfunctions, and damage.
  • Assisting with other duties as instructed by the D&B Superintendent.

ABOUT YOU

  • Blast crew, shot firing or Drilling experience in a hard rock open-cut mining environment preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in date/record-keeping with strong attention to detail.
  • A flexible approach to work and helping others, including operating other machinery and regular hot seating activities.
  • A strong focus on safety and best practices within the mining industry.
  • The ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • A current and unrestricted WA Driver’s licence; HR preferred.
