Positions are available in our drilling and well intervention team, that service both coal and CSG clients. These positions are client side positions that would suit persons experienced in project management, rig management, drilling process management and plug & abandonment.
Our Drilling Professionals are the feet on the ground managing the day-to-day drilling activities for our clients. As client representatives our coordinators and on-site company representatives are responsible for ensuring drilling activities adhere to the drilling program and any safety and health requirements within their scope. Our team are responsible for periodic reporting and data analysis that feeds back to the clients for their review and understanding of progress of drilling projects.
Key Accountabilities
Dependant on client requirements and scope of work, our Drilling Professionals are generally responsible for
- Planning, coordinate and supervise drilling operations, taking into account project objectives, available resources and deadlines.
- Coordination of site activities for drilling, wireline, water carting, waste removal, site civil works, casing and consumables and borehole rehabilitation.
- Planning and scheduling of SIS drilling and intervention activities (downhole and surface)
- Management, implementation, and execution of short to medium term plans, and compliance with work management to align with key technical outputs.
- Manage the material, human and financial resources available for drilling operations, optimizing the use of resources and respecting budgetary constraints.
- Monitor drilling performance in terms of speed, efficiency and quality.
- Evaluates drilling data, recordings and key performance indicators to ensure that objectives are met and quality standards are met
- Resolving unforeseen technical or operational problems efficiently, making appropriate decisions in the field and coordinating the actions necessary to minimize disruptions.
- Reports on drilling activities - performance, incidents, problems encountered and actions taken.
- Ensures accurate and complete documentation for tracking, regulatory compliance and future reference needs
- Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed at all times.
- identify potential risks, implements preventive measures and trains the team to adopt safe work practices
- compliance to site SHMS and the relevant legislation
- Maintain and promote continuous improvement
- Assisting contract holders to improve contract management
- Establish control procedures and measure and monitor contractor activity to drive safety and reduce costs.
- Managing stock levels of drilling equipment and consumables for drilling and gas infrastructure installation

- Collaborate with infrastructure, geological, reservoir, engineering and financial teams.
- Keep relevant data platforms up to date for wells and drilling information
- Obtain and maintain compliance to relevant site permit requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience and knowledge of Coal Seam Gas and Coal Mining Legislation and how to apply operational drilling processes in line with legislative standards and requirements.
- Certificate or RII competencies in surface drilling.
- IWCF Well Control (dependant on position)
- Wellsite Permit to Work (dependant on position
- Coal board medical (dependant on position)
- Standard 11 Coal Mine General Induction (dependant on position)
- S123 & G2 Supervisor (dependant on position)
- Project scheduling skills
- Previous experience of drilling and/or gas field operations
- Minimum basic understanding of drilling engineering, L/MWD, well planning & industry drilling practices
- Experience in use and interpretation of EDR data and rig observation
- High level of computer literacy
- Experience using CAD or similar advantageous
- Demonstrated experience leading a team to deliver against targets.
