Local Government is the largest provider of Education and Care Services in NSW and we have 8 community based centres where you will assist local children and families to help them to develop to their full potential, nurtured and cared for in a supportive environment.

These opportunities will suit enthusiastic, positive and team oriented educators and Trainees who are capable of delivering quality education and care, and enjoy building sound connections with staff, children and families, becoming a valuable and positive influence within their centre.

Vacancies exist for:

  • Diploma Qualified Educators looking for permanent full-time, part-time, casual and temporary roles (Kanwal, Niagara Park, Terrigal locations plus 2 float positions)
  • Certificate III Qualified Educators looking for permanent full-time, part-time, casual and temporary roles (Niagara Park and Wyong locations)
  • Certificate III Qualified Educators who want to complete a Diploma Traineeship (Niagara Park and Wyong locations)

Casual positions may work across all of our 8 centres. Float positions will work across Kariong, Niagara Park, Terrigal and Umina (South Float) and Wyong, Northlakes, Kanwal and Toukley (North Float).

In our community focussed centres where you will work within a dedicated team to:

  • Deliver quality education and care programs for the children in fun and creative ways, offering great ideas to keep our activities fresh and engaging
  • Assist in developing and implementing customised educational programs in line with the individual needs and interests of children
  • Build relationships with children, families and carers to make them feel welcome and connected in our education and care community
  • Take a responsible and professional approach to supervision of children and their overall wellbeing
  • Complete associated documentation and administration tasks

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Council will also be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other educator vacancies across our locations.

What we offer:

  • Weekly pay cycle
  • Generous leave provisions: 20 days paid Annual Leave, 15 days Sick Leave/Carers Leave, Health and Wellbeing Leave, Long Service Leave after 5 years, Additional purchased leave, Parental Leave – 18 weeks full pay/36 weeks ½ pay, Paternity Leave - 2 weeks (pro-rata for part time employees)

These roles have different salary ranges depending on qualifications and experience:

  • Diploma Qualified Educator - $61.5K to $73.8K per annum
  • Certificate III Qualified Educator - $55.2K to $66.2K per annum
  • Diploma Trainee - starting at $43.5K

These roles attract 11% superannuation and shift allowances. Casuals will receive casual loading of 25%.

Successful candidates may be required to undertake a course of vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus or demonstrate their immunity.
