The preschool can have 35 children enrolled each day and is open from 8.30am-4pm during school terms. About the role - Early Childhood Teacher
This Early Childhood teachers’ position will be available to the successful applicant from Term 2 2024 onward with consideration being given to the right applicant. The position is a permanent part-time position consisting of 3 days per week Wednesday - Friday (possibility to swap to Monday – Wednesday via negotiation in the future). The successful applicant will be paid in line with current Award wages and conditions, which recognises a paid school holiday period.
The role of the Early Childhood Teacher is to support the implementation of an approved learning framework, to support children’s wellbeing, learning and development and to provide support in the development and implementation of services for children aged 3-6 years.
Dungog Community Preschool is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and passionate Early Childhood Teacher. This position is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the learning curriculum. Applicants will be working in a team environment and if suitable may also be required to share the Educational Leader role. If so, the educational leader allowance will be paid.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified ECT with a minimum of 2yrs+ experience working with 3-6yr old children.
- NESA approved.
- Approved WWCC, Child Protection Qualification & First Aid Certificate*
- Demonstrated ability to successfully implement and understand child development and the required framework, EYLF, NQF, Child safe standards, National Law and Regulations.
- Demonstrate evidence of your ability to adapt and perform well in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills that enable effective communication with staff and families.
*If relevant certificates have expired, applicants are encouraged to still apply providing these can be rectified prior to commencement of employment.
Desirable Criteria:
- 2IC experience in an Early Childhood Centre
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to lead a team of educators and willingness to share the educational role and responsibilities.
- Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS process, High Learning Support Needs (HLSN) funding applications and working with children with additional needs

- Early Childhood teacher qualification and NESA approval.
- Current WWC Check.
- Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificates.
- Approved Child Protection Qualifications.
