To be successful in the role, you will be required to have the following:
- Minimum three years of relevant Early Childhood experience
- A positive, friendly attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good computer skills
- Initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- ACECQA-approved Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent
- A strong understanding of the National Quality Framework, which includes government regulations, the National Quality Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework
- A passion for developing, planning and implementing an innovative educational program with a commitment to inclusive Early Childhood practice and social justice
- Being a good communicator with children, parents and peers are key
- Current Blue Card
- Current First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Certificate/s (ACECQA Approved)

Duties & responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in maintaining children's daily information and needs
- Supporting the educational program and learning experiences to promote children's development
- Ensuring that children are constantly supervised in accordance with regulations
- Attending to all children’s physical care and emotional wellbeing
- Assisting with the programs that are provided for children based on the needs and interests of the children in care.
- Working towards assisting with observations of individuals and groups of children.
- Working towards assisting with the evaluation of children in terms of individual strengths, weaknesses, interests and preferences
- Take a lead in developing, delivering, and evaluating a quality early learning program for children enrolled in the Centre, ensuring individual children’s strengths, interests and needs are identified and their learning enhanced.
- To embrace and implement the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and ensure that the service maintains operating standards as outlined in the National Quality Standards, continually working towards achieving a high-quality rating.
- To engage in face-to-face teaching of children and non-teaching tasks that support the centre and operational requirements.
- Monitor and document children’s development and progress through a diverse range of methods that reflect the principles of the Early Years Learning
St Brendan’s Child Care Centre at Moorooka has four rooms with a maximum license of 64 places. It is located next door to a primary school and is within walking distance of trains and buses.
