A fantastic opportunity awaits an ECT with a genuine passion for Early Childhood Education and Care to share their creativity and contribute their ideas to our wonderful early years program.
We are a unique coastal, 60-place community-based center located in South Coogee Public School. We have four rooms which cater for children aged 2-6 years. We employ a total of 5 Early Childhood Teachers and have a high educator-to-child ratio in each room. We have generous programming and planning time and provide many professional development opportunities.
We have a large and natural outdoor play space and a strong focus on sustainable practices. We value outdoor play and connection to nature, as a result, our children have access to two resident chickens and a well-loved vegetable garden.
We are an inclusive center and proactively support children and families with diverse needs. We also value and promote indigenous perspectives throughout our program.
We have a strong connection to the public school and connect with their teachers, facilities, and onsite events.
Children's safety is a critical aspect of our role. We will ensure that all children are safeguarded from abuse, neglect and harm. As a Child Safe Organisation, all of our candidates must have or obtain a valid working with children check.
Essential Criteria
The successful candidate must have
Demonstrated experience within an Early Childhood education setting
A Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent ACECQA approved
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Contemporary planning and programming knowledge and skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, the National Quality Standards, and the Assessment and Rating process
Demonstrated IT skills
Personal skills to establish and maintain positive and respectful relationships with families
Ability to work in a team and be collaborative
Understanding of child safe standards and how they apply to your role
Current Working With Children Check
Current Child Protection Certificate
Desirable
Certificate in First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis
A philosophical perspective shaped by Reggio Emilia
Other conditions include
12 Rostered days off per year. 4 weeks annual leave. 1-day programming per week.
