Education & Care Practitioners
Lady Gowrie is seeking Certificate III (or higher) qualified Education & Care Practitioners for our Battery Point & Campbell Street Services. Lady Gowrie is a non-for-profit community-based organisation providing Education and Care to children from birth to 5 years of age.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We have several exciting opportunities at two of our Hobart city services.
Our Education and Care Service at Battery Point has between 80 – 112 children across 5 rooms and is the first Lady Gowrie Education and Care Service in Tasmania. Battery Point is celebrating 85 years of education and care to Tasmania’s children this year!
Our Campbell Street Service has between 80 - 92 children across 5 different rooms. The service has beautiful outdoor spaces and is next to Campbell St Primary.
Both locations are close to public transport, shops, cafes, restaurants, and parks – these are fantastic services in central locations.
As part of the role, you will:
- Develop and implement exciting educational programs for children to spark wonder, investigation, connections, and possibilities!
- Interact with and supervise children.
- Ensure a safe environment for children and your team.
- Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with our families.
- Provide regular documented observations on learning and development.
- Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development, by accessing professional learning opportunities.
- Always work within the centre/service policies and procedures.
ABOUT YOU
- Hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care; or
- A Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care (or equivalent); or
- Be actively working towards your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care.
- Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Framework.
- Work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment.
- Value and understand the importance of family communications.
- Have Strong, respectful, and open communication skills.
- Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Child Related Activity)
- Police Check
