  • Commencing from $124,675 per annum plus super

About the role
As Education Officer - Learning and Pedagogy you will provide high quality specialist professional advice and operational support to building capacity across all areas of school life. Working within the Learning Services function you will support the curriculum services underpinned by the Learning and Teaching Framework, and other named evidence-based models and frameworks that ensure consistency of practice and a common language of learning across our schools and office.

Your key responsibilities :
  • Adhere to and support the vision, mission and values of Brisbane Catholic Education and the achievement of Brisbane Catholic Education’s strategic priorities.
  • Provide identified, targeted curriculum support to schools.
  • Support to identify, plan and embed curriculum initiatives.
  • Contribute and facilitate evidence-based strategies that progress student learning in planning for professional learning opportunities to implement system curriculum initiatives across schools at individual, small group or whole staff levels.
  • Provide strategic curriculum advice, adapt and develop professional learning resources to meet the identified needs of individual schools and groups of schools.
  • Work collaboratively as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Support the alignment of curriculum services across schools as articulated in the BCE Office, Learning Services and school annual plans.
  • Actively participate in meetings as required and requested; face-to-face, online and/or other modes expected.
  • Provide feedback and information in an ongoing way about the implementation of curriculum initiatives in schools through the Cluster Manager/Senior Cluster Manager.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and respond to requests for information about the implementation of curriculum initiatives and compliance requirements in schools.
  • Maintain professional learning and professional reading to keep up to date with current curriculum initiatives and pedagogical practices.
  • Trial, report and share significant learning from the practical implementation of curriculum strategies in schools for the benefit of strategic planning.
  • Maintain professional relationships and communication within and across BCEO.


To be successful in this role you will:
  • Demonstrated experience leading educational initiatives, building capacity of others and providing curriculum/pedagogy advice within school context.
  • Ability to lead, energise, empower teams, and positively influence individuals and the group.
  • Commitment to and understanding of the purpose and mission of the Catholic Church and Catholic schools.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of contemporary, innovative curriculum and pedagogy approaches to system wide initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership advice and support to education to build teacher capacity in curriculum, pedagogy and assessment to improve learning engagement, progress and achievement for each student.
  • Ability to liaise with Cluster Managers/Curriculum Advisors and Senior Manager to engage with the development and implementation of BCE policy, professional learning and resourcing in learning and teaching .
  • Provide representation when required within and beyond BCE and actively builds professional networks and relationships .


Qualifications:
  • Degree qualifications in Education, with post-graduate qualifications in Education or relevant field preferred.
  • Current registration as a Teacher with the Queensland College of Teachers.
  • Current/valid Queensland Driver's License and eligibility to work within Australia for the period of this appointment.
