There are multiple vacancies across the organisation in Adelaide, Bendigo, Canberra and Wollongong.As an EL1 within the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO), you will help deliver AGO’s mission and cutting-edge capabilities now and into the future.You will lead a team that works with teams across AGO to undertake intelligence production, research, governance and analysis activities so that you can engage with a range of diverse domestic and international stakeholders on operational and strategic issues to achieve Defence outcomes.You will enable the critical relationship between policy, intelligence and operations that informs senior leadership and decision makers. Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following. BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA). This arrangement is subject to meeting eligibility criteria and is subject to annual review. Should your performance fall beyond requirements or the eligibility criteria not be met, your eligibility for the BDCP may be reviewed and ceased. It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence. Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised and your BDCP additional payment will cease.About our Team
The Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO) is the lead agency for geospatial data, information, and intelligence, also known as Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) for Defence and government. Our people make a vital contribution to protect the lives and safety of Australians at home and overseas by providing GEOINT to decision-makers at all levels. You would be working in a unique, challenging and dynamic environment. We are recruiting across four branches in AGO – Data, Collections and Futures; GEOINT Enterprise & Executive; Intelligence and Insights; and Targeting, Mission and Engagement Branches.We require EL1s to drive AGO’s focus on mission, lead the Defence GEOINT community, prioritise engagement with our partners and develop policy to support GEOINT and ensure compliance with Australian legislation.As an EL1 in AGO, you should have strong leadership skills, and a wide range of diverse experiences. There are a number of vacancies that are being filled through this recruitment activity. These include in the following teams:Data, Collections and Futures: Lead a team of highly specialised and skilled geospatial standards staff, to manage the growth and development of the team, while aligning work priorities with the AGO Data Strategy, and broader Defence Data Strategy. As a member of the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Data Office (GDO) leadership team, you will contribute to enhancing GDO objectives, foster a collaborative and mission-focused team environment.GEOINT Enterprise and Executive: Have excellent people management skills, be highly organised and able to multi-task with competing priorities to modernise AGO’s training delivery. Roles are within the Training and Tradecraft Directorate. Two vacancies exist:
- Lead, manage and work cohesively with a small, highly skilled and technical team responsible for the management of Australia’s Precise Point Mensuration (PPM) accreditation including certification of Australian Defence Force (ADF) PPM work centres and ADF PPM analysts. Stakeholder engagement is essential to ensure compliance and have extensive knowledge of Australia’s PPM program, targeting policy and standards, and ADF target development processes. Engagement throughout the PPM imagery exploitation process is essential. Stereo vision is a requirement for this role, testing for suitability will be required as part of this application.
- Lead and manage a broad range of learning and development functions across AGO, including the development and implementation of a range of programs supporting the upskilling and professionalisation of the AGO workforce. Will manage AGO’s regional training teams in AGO's Bendigo and Wollongong offices.
