AddressThe Treasury is looking for two experienced Power BI Analysts to fill the role of Power BI Technical Lead in the Service Delivery Unit, Power BI team.
The Treasury's Power BI team is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Power BI's platform. The team creates tailored interactive Power BI reports and dashboards to align with various departmental requirements, which include both internal and external-facing products. The team contributes to improving Treasury's use of business intelligence by providing training, best practice advice and support as needed.
The Technical Lead will work collaboratively with technical and business colleagues to develop tailored Power BI reporting solutions in support of various departmental objectives. They will follow best practice when leading the end-to-end delivery of Power BI builds, including design, development and maintenance. They will exhibit strong written and spoken communication skills to provide support to non-technical audiences.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Gathering and translating business requirements into technical requirements to guide Power BI report development.
- Developing tailored interactive Power BI reporting and dashboards for a wide variety of audiences.
- Anticipating and establishing priorities to oversee the delivery of simultaneous Power BI builds.
- Following best practice during Power BI development, including developing and maintaining technical documentation to ensure longevity of solutions.
- Supporting non-technical teams to maintain their Power BI products through tailored training and handover documentation.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with technical and business colleagues to facilitate Power BI development.
- Providing ad hoc support and proactively delivering solutions to support departmental staff to upskill in Power BI.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior staff members, and contribute to the Community of Practice.
Desirable Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Power BI development, with demonstrated proficiency in DAX and M languages.
- Experience in connecting to a wide range of data sources, including SQL, Dataverse and APIs.
- Strong knowledge of data analysis, data cleaning and transformation, data modelling, and data visualisation.
- Understanding of agile development methodologies.
