The Product Transition Manager is responsible for leading and managing a program of support system, procurement and capability transition. They will be required to work closely with industry partners, acquisition, and sustainment organisations to successfully transition products and services into service within Defence. They will write and manage transition plans including schedule identification, lead coordination across all applicable areas of the ADO providing sustainment services, interface with all project and branch functional areas to achieve transition, and lead a small team by setting priorities and guidance to deliver against deadlines.
The Product Transition Manager will be required to understand and implement relevant policies, procedures and processes defined by CASG and the wider ADO to support transition. They will be accountable for timely achievement of transition activities to enable speed to capability and will be expected to communicate and manage risks and issues related to achieving transition.
About our Team
Defence has commenced work on one of the most complex and challenging programs in ADF history, one that seeks to transform the ADF’s Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) capability into a fully networked, fifth-generation force better able to protect its airspace and vital assets from increasingly complex and lethal air and missile threats.
CASG Air Defence Systems (ADS) Branch will deliver four projects as part of the IAMD program:
- AIR6500 PH1 (Joint Air Battle Management System)
- AIR6502 PH1 (Medium Range Ground-Based Air Defence)
- AIR6503 PH1 (Advanced and Very High Speed Missile Defence)
- AIR7004 PH1 (Theatre Air Control System)
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a broad experience and background within Defence with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics management. Experience in project management, stakeholder management, command and control systems and export controls is desirable.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering to time and scope in either logistics or project management fields. They should be familiar with integrated logistics support and be able to provide oversight and assurance across ILS disciplines.
They must possess outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across a diverse group.
They must have a strong work ethic, be comfortable working to tight deadlines and managing ambiguity; resilience, flexibility, organisational skills, initiative and strategic awareness are all ideal attributes.
