The System Manager will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role. They will exercise sound decision making and judgement to support capability sustainment requirements in line with stakeholder requirements. They will provide detailed product management advice, including professional and policy advice in relation to complex systems, and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management development.
The System Manager will be required to:
- Manage the sustainment of capability to the required level of capability within the assigned budget in line with the Army Product Management Plan (PMP).
- Analyse, develop and implement product management options that achieve optimal use of Defence assets, balancing cost. Opportunities and risks against desired asset performance, including system reporting, stakeholder liaison and engagement, configuration management, security accreditation, system reviews, change management, budget management, procurement activities for software, hardware and licensing, contract management, and other governance activities as directed.
- Manage diverse stakeholder relationships to ensure that operational requirements related to sustainment are satisfied.
