Form of workThe Director, Longitudinal Studies Engagement and Operations, manages a large and diverse team, which is nationally dispersed working in jurisdictions and the National Office in Canberra. The team comprises a large number of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and is responsible for the management and administration of Footprints in Time: the Longitudinal Study of Indigenous Children (LSIC).
Essential to this position are high-level program and project management skills, an understanding of social policy related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, demonstrated stakeholder management and engagement skills, an ability to think strategically and effectively engage with risk.
The position requires demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and stakeholders.
The section has four significant streams of work responsibility. This requires the ability to manage complex and competing priorities, with an ability to work flexibly to pivot and respond to emerging and critical issues.
This work needs to be managed in compliance with all departmental policies, practices and relevant legislation.
