The Assistant Director Data Collections is responsible for:
- Leading and enhancing ACIC’s bulk data collection capability for the criminal intelligence environment, including leading a team of collection specialists
- Developing and monitoring the annual data collection plan that supports ACIC intelligence collection priorities
- Developing and maintaining productive networks and stakeholder engagement.
Our ideal candidate
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated understanding of the strategic and/or operational criminal intelligence environment including extensive knowledge of intelligence processes, methodologies and techniques
- Ability to maintain high-level targeting intelligence and analysis skills, and demonstrated experience in proactive intelligence and data collection, including an ability to participate in ACIC intelligence collection processes and production of s.21a Notices
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with an ability to work with specialist intelligence collection areas and analytical groups, to build productive relationships and ensure optimal outcomes from ACIC intelligence collection activity
- Knowledge of information technologies, data cleaning and interrogation, research capabilities and threat assessment methodologies, including the use information technology to undertake analysis
- Champion best practice data collection and management to ensure the ACIC’s practices are aligned with contemporary data management expectations and standards.
- Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
- Security Clearance – The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
