You will be working for a large government department, on a highly sensitive government initiative that provides services to people who are eligible for compensation, counselling, and/or an apology.
Your new role
As a Communications Account Manager, you will beresponsible for leading a small team of communication professionals anddeveloping and implementing effective communication strategies and plans forthe Scheme. You will work closely with your Director and other business areasto understand their communication needs and deliver high-quality communicationproducts and services. You will also manage communication resources, budgets,and contracts, and monitor and report on the outcomes of communicationinitiatives. You will be the main point of contact for media enquiriesregarding the Scheme and ensure that the Scheme’s messages are consistent andaligned with its objectives and values.
What you'll need to succeed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with theability to write, edit, and proofread various types of communication materialsfor different audiences and channels.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to developand maintain positive and productive relationships with internal and externalstakeholders, and anticipate and respond to their communication needs andexpectations.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability toresearch and evaluate communication options and solutions, and make informeddecisions based on sound judgement, expertise, and knowledge.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to managemultiple deadlines, prioritise tasks, and deliver results within budget andtimeframes.
- A high level of adaptability and resilience, with the ability towork effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment, and support othersin your team.
- A relevant degree or diploma in journalism, communications, publicrelations, or marketing, or equivalent experience in the field of strategiccommunication, marketing, or advertising in the government or private sector.
