Form of work This opportunity is only open for current APS staff members to transfer for this role on a S26 basis. Your new company You will be joining a dynamic and high-performing team within the Communications Branch of a Federal Government Department. The Branch is responsible for providing communication advice and services to the Department and its portfolio agencies, as well as managing the Department's corporate communication channels and activities. Your new role As a Communication Account Manager, you will be leading a small team of communication officers in delivering integrated communication plans and strategies for various policy and program areas. You will be working closely with your Director and internal stakeholders to understand their communication needs and objectives, and provide them with effective and innovative communication solutions. You will also be managing communication resources, budgets and contracts, and ensuring the quality and timeliness of communication products and outcomes. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write, edit and proof-read clear and engaging communication material for various audiences and channels.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and anticipate and respond to their communication needs and expectations.
Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt communication solutions to suit different contexts, budgets and target audiences, and evaluate their effectiveness and impact.
High level of initiative and judgement, with the ability to research and make decisions based on sound evidence, expertise and knowledge.
Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Experience in leading and supporting a team of communication professionals, and fostering a collaborative and respectful work culture.
Relevant qualifications and/or experience in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing, preferably in the Government or private sector.
This role is only open to Australian citizens and you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (baseline, NV1 or NV2).
