The opportunity
Our client is a large federal government agency. They have a great opportunity for an experienced Power BI Developer to join the Service Reliability Reporting team within the Office of the CIO.
- Geelong based, with 3 days in the office per week
- 12 months initial contract plus future extensions
- Daily rate range of $750 to $800 plus super
The role
As a Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for report and dashboard development, and manage complex analytics and systems for data-driven decision making. You will also work across a combination of BAU and Project based reporting, while maintaining and supporting stakeholder relationships across the organisation. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Design and develop PowerBi dashboards and reports that accurately represent complex data sets and meet the OCIO’s reporting needs
- Collaborate with various OCIO teams and branches to understand their data visualisation requirements and translate these into effective PowerBi solutions
- Ensure the integrity, reliability, and performance of PowerBi dashboards, including optimising data models for efficiency
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PowerBi developments and integrate new features and capabilities to continually enhance dashboard functionalities
- Provide training and support to OCIO staff in using PowerBi dashboards, ensuring widespread adoption and effective utilisation
- Foster an adaptive culture within the team in line with Agency values and nurture effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across different datasets
- Demonstrate new innovations to the Service Reliability ICT Reporting team and management
About you
To be considered for these roles you will need:
- Proven experience in PowerBI development, reporting and analytics, with a strong portfolio of successfully deployed dashboards and reports
- Strong coding ability in SAS, SQL, Python, and demonstrated technical experience with SAS VA and Splunk
- Knowledge of data integration and ETL, and the ability to work with structured & unstructured data from various sources
- Demonstrated knowled of PowerBI Service Administration & Data governance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
