Our client is seeking to engage an EL1 and APS6 Business Engagement Officers on a contract until 28/06/2025, with option to extend up to 30/06/2025.
Requirements:
- Preparing formal documents, agendas, managing action lists, co-ordinating attendees and facilitating preparation of submissions as required.
- Reviewing and editing documents to a very high standard, in alignment with the format and template requirements for submission to senior executives, Committee Chair and Members.
- Liaising with a range of senior internal and external stakeholders regarding confidential and sensitive issues, providing detailed and professional advice to plan, coordinate and deliver high quality committee meetings.
- Engaging, collaborating and building relationships, including with internal and external Senior Executive's to deliver high quality secretariat support.
- Providing administrative and logistical support to the Business Engagement Team on linked activities and events.
To be successful in this role, the Business Engagement, Assistant Director (EL1)/Officer (APS6) will:
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in providing high level secretariat support to several Committees.
- Demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgement and manage complex matters efficiently and with discretion.
- Possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate respectfully.
- Have outstanding editing and writing skills and the ability to analyse and condense complex matters into concise written documents.
- Be able to identify, develop and implement new and improved procedures and processes and provide a thorough understanding of effective corporate governance frameworks.
- Possess a high level of interpersonal skills including dealing with senior executives, Board members and internal and external stakeholders.
- Have exceptional organisational, time management and administration skills with demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of legislative, financial and administrative frameworks and have a sound understanding of government decision-making processes.
- Hold relevant qualifications e.g. Bachelor of Business, or similar and/or have relevant demonstrated experience in governance and assurance is desirable.
- Ability to think strategically and understand the organisation's objectives and align operational activities accordingly.
- Confidently provide strategic advice, problem solving and issues management in relation to complex and strategic matters.
- Strong stakeholder management, verbal communication and negotiation skills, and ability to maintain these in high-pressure situations.
- High-level written communication skills including the ability to prepare clear and succinct written advice and content for a variety of purposes and stakeholders, including formal documents and content for online platforms.
- Excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage priorities to deliver to tight timeframes.
- The ability to contribute positively to small team dynamics, including ability to work across teams located in different locations.
- A Baseline Security Clearance is mandatory - the candidate will need to already hold an active clearance.
