The position is based at our busy Belmont workshop and most of our work is performed from here, keeping it central to one location.
About the business
A.P.S. Rewinds and Sales is a wholly Western Australian family-owned, award-winning, medium sized business operating since 1964, servicing multiple industries including mining, manufacturing, water treatment and agricultural sectors across Western Australia. We are an authorized Davey Premium Master Dealer, Onga Pump Shop and Puretec Filtration specialist.
Our business activities include rewinds/repairs and overhauls to:
- AC and DC electric motors from 75 Watts to 800kW
- Alternators/generators to 1250kVA
- All types of centrifugal and submersible pumps
- Gearboxes and eddy current drives
- Solenoid coils and rigid fields
- Modification to Australian standards and/or client/mining specification of new motors
- Supply of new electric motors, pumps, generators, and water filtration equipment
About the role
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, this position iwill be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Assisting our trades personnel with dismantling and reassembling of electric motors, pumps and generators
- Assisting with fault finding of electric motors, pumps and generators
- Learn a specialised skill of rewinding electric motors and pumps
- Assist with general workshop duties, including spray painting, sandblasting and steam cleaning parts, kitchen duties, coordinating lunch orders, and other tasks as required to assist trades personnel and office personnel
Skills & experience
- No experience necessary for this position
- Must be a good listener, with the ability to follow instructions and deploy methods to retain information
- Self-motivated with a good work ethic is necessary
- Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols
- Strong attention to detail
- An interest in electric motors and pumps is advantageous
- Drivers Licence
- Forklift and Manual Truck Licence highly regarded
Candidates must have Australian permanent work rights.
We have a steady pipeline of incoming work which enables us to provide a stable environment to our team members. We offer attractive working hours within an organized yet busy operational workshop environment. Our business hours are Monday to Friday generally between 8:00am to 5.00pm.
