Your next exciting job opportunity -
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for professionally and efficiently conduct engineering work without detailed supervision. This requires the application of mature engineering knowledge in planning and conducting projects having scope for independent accomplishment and coordination of the more challenging and responsible assignments.
In this role you will be required to:
Perform engineering duties requiring mature professional knowledge.
Work both as part of a team and independently, and with work subject to review by others.
Supervise and review the work of other engineers, drafters, and technicians.
Design / specify LV power & control requirements for new equipment for handling of bulk commodity products including shiploaders, ship-unloaders, container cranes, conveying systems, transshipment systems and bulk storage systems.
Design / specify LV power & control requirements for mining equipment including conveying systems, stackers, reclaimers and bucket wheel excavators.
Design / specify electrical equipment associated with other heavy engineering industries including the energy, defence, rail, shipping & transport sectors.
Review, and create detailed electrical design drawings, specifications, and estimates including supervision and direction of electrical draftsmen.
Share knowledge and act as a mentor to more junior staff within areas of expertise.
Liaise with clients, potential and current, to deliver work, maintain good relationships, and seek new work.
Manage equipment resources, including advice to management regarding future asset requirements, as relevant to role.
Optionally, contribute to, or be the author of, technical papers.
Relevant Education, Experience, and Skills:
Essential:
Extensive LV electrical design experience including distribution, protection, motor control, and AS3000 compliance.
Comprehensive control system engineering experience with PLC, HMI, DCS and SCADA across common industry platforms.
Experience in commissioning of control systems for complex functions of heavy engineering equipment.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant area of study.
Minimum 7 years' experience post-graduation.
Registered Engineer or meet the requirements of Registration in Australia.
Experience with: AutoCAD or similar.
Willingness to travel to client sites.
Desirable:
Experience working within a multi-site organisation.
Experience with mining equipment including conveying systems, stackers, reclaimers, and bucket wheel excavators.
Experience with renewable energy technology and engineering.
Experience with MV power systems on customer sites.
Experience with marine, maritime, naval defence and/or subsea electrical infrastructure.
