About the role
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to become part of a multidisciplinary team involved in complex works and continuity of services, at our Ranger Rehabilitation Project.
This role is a great opportunity for a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills to work both individually and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Reporting to the Superintendent - Engineering, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing scopes of work, cost estimates and schedules for electrical, instrumentation and control system project work.
- Coordinating and managing external electrical and instrumentation subject matter experts.
- Coordinating and managing external contractors and service providers.
- Developing, maintaining, and archiving site electrical drawings for all project work.
- Preparing applications for capital expenditure.
- Ensuring change is managed.
- Working closely with engineering service providers to ensure issued for construction packages are complete.
- Working closely with site HV and LV electricians, and service providers to ensure electrical statutory compliance for all electrical project work.
- Working closely with execution supervision to deliver projects on time.
The role has a 5/2/4/3 fortnight roster and will be Bus In Bus Out (BIBO) between Darwin and Jabiru.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- 5-10 years of experience in a similar role, with proven capability in a field or site based role.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in using SCADA and/or the Uniformance suite.
- Previous experience working on a brownfield or greenfield project with high complexity.
- A current Northern Territory Electrical licence or recognized equivalent (desired)
- A current driver licence.
- The ability to work effectively in a team and display commitment to safety.
- The ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- A project mindset.

Who we are
Energy Resources of Australia Ltd (ERA) is a publicly listed company with Rio Tinto as its major shareholder. ERA, established in 1979, previously mined and produced uranium oxide from its Ranger mine in the beautiful and rugged Alligator Rivers area of the Northern Territory. The Ranger mine is located on Aboriginal land, surrounded by, but currently separate from, Kakadu National Park.
ERA's production operations on the Ranger Project Area ceased in January 2021, with the major focus now shifting to the comprehensive world-class rehabilitation of the Ranger mine that will eventually allow it to be incorporated back into the Kakadu National Park should the Traditional Owners and the Commonwealth Government wish. The Ranger Rehabilitation Project is the largest project of its kind in Australia and possibly the world. It is unique in that it is rehabilitating land in one of the world's most culturally and environmentally sensitive locations, surrounded by the World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park on the land of the Mirarr Traditional Owners, located three hours southeast of Darwin.
