Reporting to the Technical Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer is tasked with developing certified, safe, and legally compliant solutions for both internal and external stakeholders.
The role involves designing and assessing workshop equipment and tooling, conducting technical reviews of electrical and technology machine modifications, and serving as an internal escalation point for related issues.
Additionally, the Electrical Engineer will conduct self and peer reviews of engineering documentation, propose improvements to the engineering function, and provide technical input for company projects. They also identify areas requiring electrical and technology expertise within the business.
Location: South Guildford, WA
Roster: Monday - Friday, 8.5-hour days
To be successful the following is required:
- Tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering, accompanied by professional experience within the mining, oil and gas, or manufacturing sectors
- Demonstrated compliance in Health, Safety, and Environment, as well as Safety in Design of electrical modifications
- Proficiency in Electrical design following AS/ISO/SAE standards, including Controller Area Network (CAN Bus) and Automotive micro-controller
- Experience in communication systems is desirable
- Skilled in reviewing and ensuring professional and statutory compliance in electrical designs
- Proficient in resolving electrical and technology issues for mobile equipment
- Strong project management skills with a focus on business-oriented engineering outcomes
- Able to innovate and deliver commercial value, contributing to dynamic project teams
- Initiative-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Advanced in electrical design using tools like AutoCAD (Electrical) and Inventor
- Holds current Professional Engineering (PE - Stage 1 Competency) status with Engineers Australia (EAust)
- Capable of applying relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines pertinent to the field
