This is the perfect role for someone who loves a smaller business environment and enjoys helping to create really cool, highly appreciated products in a lacking industry.
Reporting directly to the MD, this role will see you get your hands dirty on multiple projects and build the electronic capability of a previously highly mechanical product business. You will initially be the sole firmware engineer building on top of the work of existing products and interfacing with an external mechanical and hardware development groups to build out the product suite significantly. This is an exciting and challenging role which will provide exposure to a large breath of engineering disciplines and is not for the faint of heart. You would need a Bachelors Degree in Electronics (preferred), Mechatronics or Computer Science as well as experience with end-to-end product development in the electronics space.
Required skills
Personal:
Ability to work autonomously and self driven for outcomes
Ability to interface well with customers both in person and over the phone for technical support from time to time
3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Software:
Working knowledge of Zephyr and Nordic BLE platforms
Software architectural experience
Adept at coding in C/C++
Experience working with git version control systems
App development, preferably in Flutter or similar
Electronics:
Hands on experience with validation and troubleshooting activities including the use of lab equipment such as MSO's or similar
Working knowledge of electronics and the ability to understand and contribute to design and schematics.
Product/Project:
A level of system and interface design to ensure products form an ecosystem based on customer conversations
An understanding of the full product lifecycle from idea conception through to production, aftersales support and beyond
Experience with basic project management
Interface with and efficiently utilize external consultants (design, test, reviews etc.) where needed for delivery of project outcomes
Familiarity or working knowledge of CANBUS, J1939 and NMEA2000
