We are currently seeking an energetic and dedicated Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our team, reporting to the Engineering / Maintenance Manager. This full-time position will be based at our Plywood Manufacturing Facility located in picturesque Myrtleford.
The Primary responsibilities of this position are:
- Co-ordinating and directing maintenance activities on planned maintenance & shutdowns in regard to Instrumentation, PLC/control systems integrity and electronic plant improvements, making recommendations for reliability and throughput improvements
- Ensuring safe systems of work are developed and followed for all activities related to Instrumentation - PLC’s, chemical & safety (PILZ) control systems
- Manage all PLC/control systems tasks to facilitate and produce root cause analysis to develop better systems etc
- Learning and collaborating with the site electricians, effectively communicating, understanding and addressing any plant issues raised
- Continuous improvement of the site’s preventative maintenance and maintenance documentation for PLC & instrumentation
- Updating P&ID, creating electrical block diagram, updating PLC schematics, resolve errors in cable and core numbering
- Complete valve and instrument tagging process and collate info for BC bill of materials
- Assist the site with problem solving and identification of opportunities that improve operational performance and/or health and safety
- Driving initiatives for continuous improvement
- Assisting in the production and upgrading of documentation as required
- Conducting feasibility studies and costing for performance improvement projects as required
- Assist in the management of projects to achieve outcomes, within budget and on time
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Mechatronic, Control Systems Engineer or equivalent
- Skills and experience in Industrial Control and Automation (SCADA and PLC) including design, software development, testing and commissioning will be highly regarded
- PLC experience, especially Rockwell - Allan Bradley, Siemens also desirable
- Advanced computer literacy skills
- A high level of enthusiasm and motivation to tackle technical challenges
- Demonstrate attention to detail and are thorough in completing tasks
- Practically minded and analytical
- Innovative, resourceful and self-motivated
- Well organised and able to prioritise
- Have a hands-on approach to take concepts through to actions to achieve the required outcomes
- Excellent communication skills to foster strong working relationships with the broader operations and maintenance teams
