About the Role:
We are currently looking for multiple experienced Electrical Project Engineers to join our Utilities and Infrastructure team in a full time and permanent capacity based at our Melbourne CBD head office.
This position is responsible for leveraging relevant technical knowledge and experience to contribute to the effective design, procurement and delivery of technical goods, electrical equipment and services for our infrastructure projects. These projects include Primary and Secondary electrical HV substation and services in an EPC contracting context.
The role will work closely with Project Managers, Designers, Construction team members and other internal and external stakeholders to plan and deliver allocated projects safely, efficiently and in a way that maintains Beon’s reputation for reliability and quality.
In this role you will deliver:
- Provide comprehensive technical support to the Project Manager relevant to Electrical Engineering
- Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with all internal and external stakeholders to enable successful delivery of Beon projects
- Actively contribute to planning, scoping and estimating for projects, bids and tenders
- Work as the conduit between designers, constructors and the equipment manufacturers/suppliers, proactively problem solving and managing delivery risks
- Contribute to design Constructability, Operability & Maintainability reviews.
- Review project quality management requirements and preparation of QA/QC documentation including preparation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for hold point inspections, Factory or Site Acceptance Testing
- Proactively propose ideas and take actions that add positively to Beon culture, improving team delivery or for enhancing your personal contribution and impact.
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Bachelor of Engineering - Electrical
- Victorian Professional Engineer Registration (or eligible to obtain)
- Project Management qualifications are advantageous
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the installation and operation of common Primary and Secondary electrical equipment and systems used in High Voltage Transmission or Distribution Substations
- Working understanding of the application of project management principles in an EPC context
- Thorough knowledge of the requirements for effective scoping, sourcing, procuring and managing of suppliers and service providers
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders with diverse requirements, needs and aptitudes in an engineering construction contracting environment
- Experience in practical outworking of risk management
- Demonstrated commitment to a positive Health & Safety culture and practice
- Experience in delivering Grid Scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) would be highly regarded.
