We are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Electrical specialists in our Mackay branch. Reporting to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager - Dragline & Electric Rope Shovels. The focus of this position is to provide support and direction to both internal and site based teams through technical electrical services for Draglines and/or Electric Rope Shovels.
Core Responsibilities to include;
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across all levels with provision of status reports
- Provide on-site technical expertise to diagnose and repair advanced electrical circuits, electronic control and drive systems, ensuring work is completed to the correct equipment specifications
- Ensure electrical audit inspections align with OEM specifications and risk based decisions are accurate & prioritised correctly
- Work with customers and key stakeholders to co-ordinate rebuilds & repairs
- Assist with scope development, review and approvals for customers major asset component electrical repairs & overhauls
- Review costs of proposed electrical repairs/upgrades and provide OEM support / information / on upgrades
- Work across a varied and large spectrum of duties across a large portfolio of customer sites.
- Interact professionally with customers and be a SME on specific industry related topics
- The ability to travel to and from sites across specific regions to complete on site work and customer requirements
- Get the opportunity to work on interesting projects through shutdown work
About You
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
- Demonstrated experience with mining maintenance activities on Draglines and/or Electric Rope Shovels
- Trade qualified Electrician / HV Electrician and or tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering desirable
- Experience with Siemens electronic control and drive systems desirable
- Experience developing strategies, budgets and workscopes for repairs & upgrades
- Experience in supervision and quality control of repairs undertaken including third party management
- Positive attitude to developing the business through a team approach
- Well-developed customer and communication skills
