About the Role

Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent HV & Power, your duties as a Supervisor HV Electrical Maintenance will include:

• Ensure conformance with the BHP charter values, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
• An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
• Demonstrate visible safety leadership to promote a culture of zero harm through time in the field and endorsement of quality risk assessments ensuring material risk controls are implemented
• Supervision of commissioning and maintenance testing of complex protection and control systems
• Supervision of HV switching, commissioning and maintenance testing on HV assets including HV Transmission assets, distribution assets, transformers, switchgear, PDPs and MCCs
• Compliance with the relevant legislation including but not limited to the Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
• As an Electrical Nominee ensure that all electrical work is compliant to AS 3000 and electrical maintenance, installations and incidents are recorded in the Electrical Log Book and reported to the network regulator and associated regulating bodies
• Exercise a proficient level of technical knowledge and expertise to independently make informed decisions and support HV Technicians in the performance of their duties
• Provide mentoring and on the job technical training to HV technicians to further their individual technical skills and knowledge

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

• WA "A" Grade Electrical License
• Ability to obtain S26 Statutory Electrical Supervisor appointment.
• Electrical In-House Nominee (desirable) or willingness to obtain (Essential)
• C Class Driver's License
• Experience maintaining and operating High Voltage electrical equipment, transmission, distribution, transformers, switchgear and systems specific to utilities (including fault finding and fault restoration on power utility equipment, and HV protection systems).
• Experience in managing high risk work associated with the maintenance and construction of overhead lines.
• Experience in safe work practices on High Voltage Transmission and distribution assets.
• Experience in maintaining and operating Power stations
