Capstone are proud to be working with a leading global Asset Owner & Operator that is both developing and delivering innovative and strategically located Solar Farms & Wind Farm projects across regional Australia.
From initially locating suitable land and partnering with landowners, they take projects through engineering design, planning approval, grid connection, financing & investment stages and into construction and operation.
This position entails overseeing the electrical scop for a Utility scale Solar Farm project in regional Victoria, approximately 2.5 hours out of the Melbourne CBD.
The Role:
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Electrical Supervisor will lead and manage the construction delivery of electrical scope, ensuring sub-contractors packages meet contractual obligations, as well as meet our client’s quality standards and Australian specifications for Solar Farm builds.
General Duties shall include:
- Support the construction manager in the completion of scope, quality and project milestones ensuring sub-contractor obligations are met
- Define site safety practices and protocols in alignment with standards and ensure safety procedures are followed and work site is safe for all employees, subcontractors and the general public.
- Lead and become familiar with project schedules and help deviate and adjust schedules to support on-time project requirements
- Monitor project schedule, ensuring project milestones and deadlines are met.
- Review all subcontract QA plans, procedures and manage performance with project requirements.
- Conduct field inspections of the work in progress and share any deviations or deficiencies with construction manager and the QA/QC Team.
- Ensure construction standards of quality, cost, safety, timeliness and performance are observed.
- Lead the review process during all portions of the project.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant corporate policies, Australian Standards and project programs.
- Provide advice and supervision to sub-contractors and construction teams on engineering methods and procedures to achieve the construction and production requirements.
- Prepare project status reports and provide input into all engineering, design and construction documents.
- Support supply chain, engineering and on-site teams to ensure the project is delivered according to the correct standards and timeframes.
- Contribute to lessons learned and further development and improvement of construction methods on future projects.
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Electrical Contractors License
- Demonstrable experience in Solar Farm construction.
- Deep understanding of Australian Standards
- Ability to self-regulate and maintain a self-sufficient approach to work of this nature and deliver on the needs of the business.
- Ability to take the initiative and make decisions as well as learn under a rapidly transitioning regulatory market.
- Ability to handle a diverse and complex number of projects at the same time with effective management of priorities versus available resources.
