About the Role

This opportunity is being offered on a residential basis in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of NSW. BHP's Mt Arthur Coal is the largest individual coal production site in the region. Located less than 5 kilometres from Muswellbrook, NSW we produce high quality, clean energy coal for international and domestic customers. Mt Arthur Coal can offer experience and great career development opportunities. We are currently seeking Electrical trade qualified candidates to become Process Technicians, within the Mt Arthur Coal Handling and Processing Plant, on a 5/4 rotating day/night roster. Reporting to the CHPP Processing Supervisor you will use your trade skills to ensure the continued operation of all CHPP streams from the ROM to train load-out. You will be a focused team player, with a high level of safety, that is able to build effective working relationships across all levels and areas of the operation. Previous experience in CHPP will be well regarded but not essential as on the job training will be provided.

In this role you will:

  • Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
  • Ensure the continued operation of CHPP, RAW streams, and Train load-out
  • Perform fault finding and breakdown maintenance
  • Operate Dozers to manage stockpiles and load trains
  • Control Room Operation
  • Ensure grade, quality and plant throughput targets are achieved
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to improve process and equipment reliability
  • Engage in safety initiatives, identify and report on any unsafe equipment
  • Ensure that high safety standards at the CHPP are maintained

About You
  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when required
  • Proactive commitment to safety
  • Australian recognised Electrical Trade qualification (essential)
  • Experience working within CHPP environment (preferred)
  • Experience in Stockpile Dozer Operations (preferred)
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work in a team
  • Ability and desire to work well within a multi skilled team
  • Sound computer literacy
