The roleAs part of our Maritime group, the Electrical/Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, test and configuration of a wide range of electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical products within the Hardware Team under the guidance of senior team members. Product development is done to meet internal and external requirements across the product lifecycle.Further, the successful candidate will:Involvement in all phases of R&D and product development from requirements gathering to initial and detailed design (both analogue and digital) for products, systems and supporting assemblies under the guidance of senior team members. Involves incorporation of configuration management techniques.Manage own performance when undertaking engineering activities with regard to meeting the assigned project requirements and proactively seeking advice and support from senior engineers as required.Responsible for designing and documenting electronic/electrical hardware products and testing to the appropriate standards / work process's under supervisor guidance.Responsible for ensuring the designed products and services meet customer needs as well as meeting company requirements in terms of schedule, cost and quality using a number of formal design methodologies and tools.Demonstrated experience in good communication skills both written and oral.Demonstrated experience establishing strategies for problem solving with the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions. Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office will be considered for this role. About youYour skills and experience will include:Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.Understanding of the lifecycles of small to medium sized electronic/electrical hardware defence projects with an appreciation of associated processes and levels of responsibilities.Experience working within a team environment supporting open communication to both peers and management.Understanding of the fundamentals of Configuration Management and Quality requirements (as required by ISO 9001).Demonstrated experience in designing and developing electronic/electrical hardware systems (e.g. circuit board, computer systems, networks and other associated engineering solutions).Experience in writing and/or reviewing hardware engineering related documentation. As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
