Form of work About the role
EMF Group currently have multiple permanent roles for Electrical Qualified Trades. Our employees work within the Coal Handling Preparation Plants (CHPP) as well as general maintenance and shutdown activities. You will be responsible for completing equipment repairs and maintenance to a high standard and to ensure the production plant and utilities operate achieving safe, reliable production.
This role offers 5 days on and 2 days off, our people return home every day for a balanced family life. There is always something to do in Muswellbrook (population of 12,000), go to clubs/hotels and enjoy the country atmosphere or the wineries, movies, join a gym or swimming in modern facilities and sporting activities, play golf, as well as fishing and camping and activities at the lake.
It is only 1 1/2hrs from Newcastle with direct flights to all major cities.

Skills and experience
• Australian recognised Electrical Trade Certificate/Certificate of Proficiency
• Current NSW Electrical License
• 3 years’ experience in electrical trade
• Electrical Trade to have HV Switching accreditation (or willingness to complete qualification)
• Electrical Trade to have LV/CPR (or willingness to complete qualification)
• Previous experience in mining and CHPP or industrial environments is advantageous.
• Order 43 Pre-placement Medical (or willingness to obtain one)
• Current Australian Driver’s License
• Hold a high regard for safety and quality.
• Excellent work ethic with diagnostic skills
Tasks Include:
• examining wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation.
• measuring and laying out installation reference points
• selecting, cutting and connecting wire and cable to terminals and connectors
• using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults.
• repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts
• positioning and installing electrical switchboards.
• connecting electrical systems to power supply
• testing continuity of circuit
• installing, testing and adjusting electric and mechanical parts of electrical components
