The opportunity
Based at our Auburn site, there will be opportunities to work on a wide range of industrial electronic equipment from through-hole technology through to surface mount technology incorporating a combination of microcontrollers, power supplies, analog and digital circuitry including multi-layered circuit boards.
Be challenged, regularly develop and use your fault-finding skills on complex circuitry while working in a supporting environment with mentoring from senior technician and electronics design engineers.
Fully equipped electronics service facility and laboratory stocked with a wide range of tools, soldering rework and test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators and custom test jigs.
Key responsibilities include
- Assembling, testing, inspecting and repairing electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with the inspection and test documentation
- Read drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine methods and sequence of assembly operations
- Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders on technical issues, lead times and repairs status
- Contribute to continued improvements throughout the system of working using skills which have been acquired
- Correctly use all tools, equipment, material, personal protective equipment and follow work procedures
- Assist with packing all manufactured assemblies
Requirements to be successful
- Experience in electronic equipment manufacturing and repairs, preferably in Rail/Road/Communication infrastructure products industry
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience, demonstrated experience in electronic fault finding and soldering skills
- Able to correctly use manual handling techniques to move bulky or large equipment (10-15kgs)
- Required to use powered hand tools such as drills and electric screwdrivers.
