About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing and Support Team based in Edinburgh Parks, Adelaide.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as a 9 day fortnight.
The Electronics Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for a broad range of product support activities including build line support and problem solving, supporting creation / maintenance of the product bill of material and configuration baseline. And identification and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
The role will assist with design for manufacture and assembly advice and will define production techniques with respect to assembly and test process capabilities, in pursuit of on-time delivery of cost competitive, quality products.
They will also develop routes and manufacturing processes and work in a single work centre but on several projects concurrently.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide day to day production line build support and problem solving in support of achieving delivery commitments
  • Provide production expertise to project teams during design and development activities
  • Ensure that products are designed/developed in accordance with manufacturing process capability guidelines, providing the technical interface between manufacturing and design teams
  • Initiate and monitor process improvements across the discipline process and capability areas
  • Evaluate production performance and instigate improvement strategies
  • Produce various production documents to facilitate the manufacture and testing of products within manufacturing
  • Design or provide design input into the production of specific tooling used to manufacture and test company deliverables
  • Design, develop, and document processes to meet capability requirements and ensure the continuous improvement of manufacturing capability
  • Lead and/or provide input into the assessment, selection and implementation of new capital equipment and associated manufacturing process including developing business cases to justify project investment
  • Provide an objective, professional evaluation of existing and proposed design solutions
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations to understand and initiate corrective actions to address identified process issues
  • Develop test equipment and processes
About YOU
  • Degree qualifications in a relevant discipline are preferred however people with a relevant Trade + post Trade training and substantial relevant experience are encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated practical and extensive knowledge of Electronics Manufacturing, assembly, integration and test processes
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Good understanding of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) tools
  • Good computer literacy
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
