Emergency Department Registered Nurse | Northern Territory

Curis Recruitment is proud to partner with this fantastic health service in the Northern Territory to help them find an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join their team on an Agency contract.

Job Details

• 6-12 week agency contract
• $500 completion bonus if you complete 12 weeks
• Up to $74.85 per hour AM rate, plus other shift penalties depending on your experience and level
• Commencing January/February 2024

You will be based in Alice Springs Hospital which is a public hospital serving the Central Australia region.

The hospital has 209 beds and a 24 hour Emergency Department, providing the major trauma response centre for the region.

The ED has 45 patient spaces of which there are 31 beds and includes 3 Resuscitation bays, 4 High Dependency bays, 6 Acute beds, Negative pressure Isolation, Secure Assessment, Short stay Paediatric areas. The ED will be 10 years old June 2023 with up-to-date equipment.

Presentations are broad, ranging across the age spectrum with highly complex and acutely unwell/injured patients. The highest presentation per annum has been 50,000, and the team is medically led by FACEM’s.

The Medical Retrieval and Consultation Centre (MRaCC) coordinates emergency care provision to remote patients and organises the transport of acute and critically unwell patients into and out of the hospital, including inter-hospital transfers.

You will be living in Alice Springs which is the hub of the Northern Territory! The perfect base to explore central Australia from.

Nestled between the East and West MacDonnell Ranges, ‘Alice’ is famous for its beautiful desert landscapes, colourful outback characters, opportunities for adventure and a strong Aboriginal culture.

To be eligible for this position you must:

• Be currently registered with AHPRA with no restrictions
• Fully vaccinated for COVID
• Either hold post grad qualification in Emergency Medicine and/or minimum two years Emergency Medicine experience
• Have all Nursing core competencies complete or the willingness to complete prior to your commencement
