The Position:This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced Emergency MedicineStaff Specialist to join the busy, dynamic team at one of Australia’s leading teaching tertiary hospitals.As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide emergency medical services to patients, as well as provide leadership to the medical members of the team, promote quality and safety, provide training, supervision and education for doctors in training and other health workers in collaboration with other consultants and the Head of Department.This hospital is accredited for ACEM training.The Location:Located in Central Queensland, this location enjoys a tropical climate with warm to hot temperatures throughout the year. CQ Health provides public health services across Central Queensland to a growing population of approximately 250,000 people and employ more than 3,700 staff, treating more than 700,000 patients each year.To reflect the growing demand for health care in the region, the hospital has been redeveloped, and now boasts state of the art medical equipment.The hospital has four operating theatres and two procedure rooms. The operating theatre complex is supported by an 8-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU)/High Dependency Unit (HDU). The Department is accredited for specialist training and is involved in teaching and research.The hospital provides specialist services that include emergency, general medicine, general surgery, gastroenterology, gynaecology, cardiology, mental health, maternity, medical oncology, paediatrics, palliative care, orthopaedics, rheumatology, occupational therapy, social work, urology and many other specialty areas.Requirements:1. Fellowship or eligible for fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM)2.
