Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Emergency Nurse? The Emergency Department at Maroondah Hospital has positions available for Registered Nurses and Critical Care Registered Nurses who are committed to delivering exceptional nursing care.

About our department
The Emergency Department at Maroondah Hospital cares for approximately 50,000 patients per year in this post COVID environment, averaging 135 presentations per day. Presentations include critically unwell patients requiring immediate stabilisation as well as a significant proportion of paediatric presentations. Departmental resources include 35 treatment spaces, including; 3 resuscitation bays, dedicated paediatric and fast track treatment areas, and a combined adult and paediatric Short Stay Unit.

In joining the Maroondah Hospital Emergency team, you will be working alongside a highly dedicated and supportive multidisciplinary team, a team who are committed to providing quality patient care under the Eastern Health promise of Healthier Together. To help us achieve these goals we have a great support network in the department that strives to create an environment that helps us to ‘be and do our best’. This includes the Clinical Nurse Specialist cohort, the leadership team, and our specialist Emergency Nurse educators; each proactively working to support our team. At Maroondah Emergency we are committed to support staff in their career development and progression.
About you
You are dedicated, empathetic and adaptable. You understand, and are interested in, the complex and varied presentations that attend an Emergency Department on a daily basis. You are keen to utilise and hone your critical thinking and assessment skills required to provide excellent care to these patients and their families.
To be successful in this role you should possess:
- A strong commitment to high quality patient care and experience
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- A personal commitment to ongoing education and professional development
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Current AHPRA registration
- Minimum 12 months experience working in an Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit or similar
The following would be highly regarded:
- Post Graduate qualifications in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing
- Previous Paediatric nursing experience
