Work Location: Solomon Mine. Fortescue's Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi people.
Roster: 8D6R Days - FIFO ex Perth
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Emergency Service and Security Professionals
- Assume role of Incident Controller or On Scene commander at incidents when required
- Structure and Coordinate Training programs for site personnel
- Provide coaching to and upskilling of Emergency Services Officers
- Participate in site audits and site security
- Provide medical services, including AOD testing, where required
- To provide leadership and training services for the Emergency Response volunteer group and other site departments in emergency management practices
- To provide service delivery in emergency preparedness planning, high risk rescue plans and in field interactions with workplace personnel
- To provide advice and conduct audits and inspections relating to cyclone preparedness, emergency preparedness and bushfire readiness across the business
- To prepare and maintain emergency response equipment to operational standards ensuring effective responses to site emergency events
- To develop and review safe work instructions, guidelines, procedures, plans and policies relating to emergency practices and adhering to industry best practices
- Plan and facilitate emergency exercises and drills
- Provide a visible safety leadership style of leading by example and positive safety behaviours
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue
- Certificate III in Public Safety (Fire Fighting and Emergency Operations)
- Cert IV in Pre-Hospital Care / Health Care
- Cert II in Security Operations
- WA Class HR Driver's license
- HLTPAT 005 Collect Specimens for drugs of abuse testing
- Diploma of Leadership and Management (desirable)
- Cert IV in Training and Assessing
- Previous or current leadership experience
- Experience in Budget management inclusive of CAPEX and OPEX budgets and forecasts
- Minimum 5 years on site ESO experience within the resources industry
