Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Emissions Specialist to join our team and be responsible for facilitating the development/implementation of carbon/emissions reduction and accounting initiatives across the group's facilities and operations. This is a full-time role preferably based in Cooma NSW.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating the development of a corporate emissions reduction opportunities strategy 

• Providing valuable input to climate risk management and reporting processes

• Identify asset and process solutions to achieve emission reductions and drive implementation

• Review current methods and technologies used by SHL and improve GHG emissions data quality

• Develop and support an internal environmental efficiency program

• Participate in the Sustainability SteerCo (Governance) team and create reduction opportunities strategies

• Act as an internal technical expert and focal point for renewable energy initiatives

• Support the Company's ESG/sustainability reporting processes with relevant emissions inputs

We are looking for:

• University Degree in environmental or civil engineering, science, or a related field

• General experience in the implementation of environmental efficiency projects

• Advanced knowledge of the latest emissions reduction field is essential;

• Advanced knowledge of emission reduction and CO2 emissions calculations
