This role is based in the Employee Relations Team who are committed to providing high quality support in managing the relationship between the University, employees and key stakeholders, particularly on matters under the University’s Enterprise Agreements.
Why Your Role Matters:
As an Employee Relations Officer, you will work closely with the Employee Relations Consultants and Business Partners, as well as Human Resources and stakeholders across our Divisions and Faculties, to provide proactive and trusted support and advice in line with our enterprise agreements and ER policies and procedures.
The role will support the activities of the Employee Relations Team across a range of matters, including case management, industrial disputes and compliance and will play a key role in managing our casual and fixed term conversion processes as well as our conflicts of interest disclosure process.
Reporting to the Senior ER Business Partner, you will support the development and implementation of relevant initiatives, robust procedures, training, and continuous assurance measures to uphold adherence to best practice across the University.
Who You Are: You will ideally have some experience in within the area of HR or Employee Relations alongside:
- Being keenly interested in Employee Relations
- Having strong attention to detail as well as proven time management and organisational skills.
- Having the ability to think on your feet and take initiative in developing solutions and resolving matters
- Having the ability to analyse, problem solve using judgement and initiative.
- Being able to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Being confidence in supporting the implementation of organisational strategies.
- Having excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Being computer literate across the MS suite and with experience in using computerised HR systems including data review and general reporting.
