The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to make a difference working in the team at Hunter Prosthetics/Orthotics Service (HealthShare NSW) located on the John Hunter campus in Newcastle. The Prosthetic/Orthotic (PO) Technician will be responsible for assisting in the fabrication, manufacturing and fitting of clinical devices. We're looking for someone that is hands-on and loves getting involved with their craft. You will be working under the guidance of the Prosthetist/Orthotist to assist in the manufacture, repair and fitting of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
This role is heavily involved in fabricating, assembling and finishing prescribed devices, with application specific materials. Prior experience or qualification is not essential but will help ensure you have a developing understanding of the tasks at hand. In this role, you may also provide technical support in patient management, participate in developing appropriate stock management systems and work health safety initiatives to continue delivering excellent services.
