We're looking for a Technical Assistant to join our team in our Sydney CBD office to help us maintain and support our internal platforms.
The ideal candidate should possess self-motivation, adaptability, be a quick learner and have the ability to work independently. A diligent work ethic and the willingness to contribute to all facets of development, integration and system administration are essential qualities. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic and be willing to put in the necessary effort to achieve success.
Specifically, you will:
- Demonstrate a strong desire and capacity to acquire new skills.
- Exhibit initiative in tackling challenges and showcase robust problem-solving skills.
- Execute system integration and testing duties.
- Provide support for system configuration and administration.
- Manage the installation, upgrading and maintenance of open source and specialised commercial software packages.
- Have excellent communication skills as you will be working closely with both technical and non-technical team members.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with supporting a network of windows signage computers with Linux backends.
Assist with maintenance and support Linux Content Delivery Network
Assist with maintenance and support Linus Central Management System
Respond to incoming support requests through various channels and provide timely, courteous assistance to end users. (this can include out of business hours support on occasion).
Requirements
2+ years of overall IT technology experience.
You have worked as a RHEL/Centos Linux system admin, or have equivalent experience from a home lab
YUM/DNF packaging management
Networking (TCP/UDP/ICMP)
Security best practices, encompassing, Network Security, Application Security
Linux command and bash scripting
Linux bare metal installation/administration
KVM Virtualisation
SQL (MySQL/Postgres)
Solid understanding of networks LAN / WAN
