Build Run Repair, a division of the wider Visy Group, provides Technical Advisory, Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management services for the Pulp & Paper, Packaging, Recycling and Waste to Energy sectors.
As we continue to innovate and expand our operations in Glass manufacturing, we are looking for an experienced HSEQ Manager to drive our commitment of achieving the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility, and quality.
The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, BRR, this role is a 3-year fixed term contract role based in Yatala, QLD.
As the HSEQ Manager you will play a key role in driving the operational delivery of the HSEQ Management Plan for the Yatala Glass Plant greenfield site construction to meet the identified HSEQ outcomes and support the Construction Manager and a wide variety of stakeholders on the project spanning to cross-functional teams and divisions.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Collaborating with the construction team and key stakeholders to develop, issue, review and maintain the project Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Management Plan.
- Drive to support, deliver and manage contractors and sub-contractors
- Implementing project HSEQ plans and enforcing safe systems of work on the Project site.
- Advising and assisting the leadership team in all HSEQ-related matters.
- Conducting risk assessments specific to activities performed on the project.
- Reviewing contractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA), and related documents and processes, ensuring they meet VISY standards.
- Planning and conducting periodic audits and inspections to verify the practical implementation of the Project HSEQ Management Plan requirements.
- Supporting Corporate HSEQ Objectives including site implementation of Corporate Programmes.
What you will bring to the team:
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS/OHS, environmental science, engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience in managing HSEQ on large projects dealing with unions.
- Knowledge of HSE management system (implementation), hazard & risk management, HSE audits, incident investigation, management of change, HSE training, crisis & emergency management protocols & ISO Standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
- Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
