The PositionWe’re currently recruiting TWO Project HSE Lead who is a subject matter expert that is responsible for the delivery of Yurika HSE performance and strategic initiatives including leading and promoting Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance by positively coaching and operational managers, leaders, external stakeholders, contractors and HSE Site Project Specialist across a national portfolio of Yurika projects and programs of work.This position will lead FIVE Project HSE Specialists and provide guidance and support to ensure Yurika projects are delivered safely in line with Yurika HSE policies.
This is a 24-month fixed term position and can be located in any major centre (Queensland).
This is a Professional & Managerial Grade Two position with salaries aligned to current market conditions relative to the successful incumbent’s experience and qualifications.Some of your responsibilities include:
  • Leads and manages the HSE systems including development of HSE Management plans, learning and assurance function for Yurika through adaptive change by promoting teamwork, communicating effectively, providing clear direction, and technical support.
  • Manage and motivate HSE Site Project Specialists performance towards Key Result Areas (KRA’s) through coaching, motivational activities, team meetings, attendance support and effective performance management to meet business unit strategic objective Provides HSE management support to project activities, in the embedding and continual improvement of the Yurika HSE Management System and to ensure that health, safety and environmental standards are applied and adhered to in project delivery, specific to client and contractual requirements.
  • Works collaboratively across Yurika to ensure a coordinated approach with peers (i.e. Senior Project HSE Leads and HSE Systems and Governance Lead), actively engaging and focusing on achieving collective results. Specifically in the effective and consistent development and deployment of HSE strategic objectives and communications.
  • Coaches, trains and supports peers and line managers in HSE processes, including risk management, (hazard identification, assessment and mitigation), risk profiles and control measures, HSE conversations, incident investigation, injury/illness prevention programs (i.e. Mental Health Awareness), leadership cultural programs (e.g. Safety is Defence) and Environment and Cultural Heritage specific programs to support improved HSE performance
  • Provides HSE support, coordination and emergency planning as well as necessary response support, processes and resources, in the event of an emergency or disaster event.
  • Works with other HSE subject matter experts (i.e. Auditors and Investigators) to proactively seek trends in data and information to identify, communicate and improve the management of HSE Risk.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to health, safety and environment and supports a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Collaborates effectively managing information and confidentiality requirements across Energy Queensland Limited in accordance with applicable ring-fencing parameters.
  • Compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practices.
About youYou have multiple years’ experience within HV Infrastructure and/or construction industries in both civil and electrical (High voltage) fields.
You have highly developed HSE project/program management skills and excellent time management, analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage personal and team deadlines to achieve desired outcomes.
You demonstrate strong relationship management approach including excellent influencing skills by consistently conveying a genuine, approachable, fair and just manner when communicating with line management and the workforce.
You have strong organisational and leadership skills with demonstrated ability in planning, organising, leading, and monitoring of team members to realise agreed upon goals and objectives.
You have the ability to challenge and support management to ensure the outcome of safe operational effectiveness in all business decisions.
You have strong computer / program skills e.g. SAP, Microsoft Word and demonstrated ability to develop technical reports and position related documentation and processes.
You convey knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to Workplace Health and Safety as well as the Electricity Supply Industry and their application to occupational health hazards and risks.Essentials
  • Degree in Health, Safety, Environment, or related discipline and/or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • ‘C’ class drivers licence Desirable Business and/or Project Management qualifications with active experience in managing and managing technical solutions, customer requirements and project time, quality and cost outcomes.
