Engagement Officer

Who will you be working with?
Our Client is a State Government organisation within the biosecurity sector in Queensland. This is a dynamic team who strive to provide a high standard of communication that drives great outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.

What will you be doing?
As an Engagement Officer you will join a team who provide communication, engagement and partnership support across Queensland. There will be opportunity to support implementation of community and stakeholder engagement strategies, and take on projects help to inform ongoing engagement strategies.  

Other key tasks of this role include:

• Create written materials for announcements or reporting or events
• Develop material for external publication
• Build, maintain and improve relationships and networks internally and externally
• Apply engagement techniques to communicate effectively with target audiences
• Build and maintain knowledge of biosecurity concerns and topics relevant to key stakeholder.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 36.25 hour per week with some flexibility on offer. This is a contract role into early 2025 with the potential for extension.

What do you need?
We are looking for a communication and engagement superstar who thrives on building great relationships with people from all walks of life. Other key traits we are seeking include:

• Excellent communication skills to drive great engagement outcomes
• Experience in a position that require consistent contact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
• Strong writing skills to develop material for external publications
• A tertiary qualification in Communication, Engagement or Marketing is desirable
• Previous experience in project management would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal history check.
