The External Relations and Research team is seeking a Principal Engagement Officer to join our team to work on strategic projects that support the non-state education sector.
In this role, you will use your well-developed engagement and communications skills to:
- Develop and manage relevant networks across the department and external stakeholders to support the delivery of strategic projects, linkages and aligned activities related to non-state education; and
- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of project engagement and communications strategies and tactics to support whole of team engagement strategic priorities.

About the Role
As a Principal Engagement Officer, your key responsibilities include:
- Work collaboratively to support relationship management and communication activities, develop strong affiliations with key stakeholders, and position the team and its activities to deliver project objectives.
Maintain strong relationships with various parts of the department and develop and maintain two-way engagement tactics to ensure broad engagement with project work. - Analyse complex policy content and undertake research to craft tailored messaging and engagement options for target audiences.
- Conceptualise, develop, implement and review relationship management strategies and ensure communication materials are high quality, accurate and consistent, accessible and appropriately tailored for the relevant audience/situation.
- Contribute to team strategic and operational planning, as well as design achievable and practical solutions for challenges and opportunities in the non-state education area.
- Prepare and review a range of materials including briefings, presentations, submissions and correspondence.
- Lead or participate in a range of project teams and coordinate project team work, as well as supporting the operation of working groups and committees, including the preparation of briefing papers and design of engaging project materials.
