About You
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, in a similar role is mandatory.
- Experience with Inventor and AutoCAD, mandatory
- Experience in the Manufacturing Industry Industrial/Mechanical Design or similar background.
- Business administration with strong planning and excel skills
- Produce drawings and documentation for delivery of design projects from client engagement through to authority approval.
- Previous experience supervising other staff.
- Ability to answer technical questions.
- Analyse results/tests.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate team members as needed for design development and authority approvals.
- Proven track record of meeting design deadlines.
- Managing the budget/financial responsibilities of the department.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate continuous improvement processes
- Ability to undergo pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.
About the Role
- To carry out design and development of products including design verification and validation with Inventor software.
- Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality.
- Develop defined scope of works for tenders and attend to site/jobs when required.
- Produce drawings and documentation for delivery of design projects from client engagement through to authority approval
- Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials.
- Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team.
- Daily update of Work In Progress (WIP), job schedule and communicate information with the rest of the production team .
- Maintain accuracy and update data in AIG’s Electronic Resource Planner (ERP) System (ITMS)
- Include information on project planning/management, estimation & profitability.
- Assist in the management of team building and training of apprentices as required utilising trade knowledge.
- Ensure all ISO standards are adhered to.
- Ensuring a safe working environment
- Prepare concept and detail drawings efficiently and accurately
- Work closely with key personnel to ensure projects run according to schedule
