Opportunity
The Drill and Blast Engineer - Support is the primary support for the D&B Engineers; mentoring  and developing team members, assisting the Senior D&B Engineer with project work and providing leave coverage across the D&B team as well as the Production Engineering team.
You will work closely with the Mine Planning, Mine Operations, Ore Control, Geotechnical, Environmental and External Relations, and Processing departments to ensure a “whole of business” focus to optimise Drill and Blast Engineering.
Key Responsibilities

-Plan daily, weekly and monthly drill and blast schedules and designs.
-Providing practical analysis of drill and blast outcomes, undertaking trials and project work, refining strategies, finding solutions and development of new capabilities for inclusion into the D&B Design Standard.
-Provide mentoring and training to other junior engineers, graduates and operations staff in drill and blast design.
-Assist Senior D&B Engineers with budget preparation and cost management control.
-Demonstrate personal commitment in regard to safety and environmental practices.

About You
We are looking for a qualified Mine Engineer (or similar) with current or previous Australian State Shotfiring Ticket or equivalent. You will have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Drill & Blast Engineer with some hands on D&B Operations field exposure.
