About the role
Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.
We are currently seeking a Mobile Maintenance Engineer to join our Hope Downs 4 mining operations. You will work with our diversified fleet of equipment, gain exposure to a wide variety of equipment manufacturers and be involved in capital-based projects on sites throughout the Pilbara.
Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will:
- Provide day to day technical support to maintenance teams for a variety of physical assets
- Manage continuous improvement processes to deliver improvements in safety, production and cost
- Manage site-based capital project delivery and interface with central sustaining capital project teams
- Perform root cause analyses and provide inputs to a defect elimination team
- Lead safety, logistical and technical discussions
- Publish daily KPIs relating to production critical assets or systems
- Analyse asset performance and validate production loss data
- Participate in reliability facilitated asset tactics development
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering or relevant trade certificate
- Demonstrated technical maintenance/ engineering experience
- Demonstrated ability to engage with maintenance stakeholders to identify and resolve defects
- Experience working in a heavy mobile equipment workshop
- Strong focus towards safety and safe work practices
- An ability to work collaboratively in small teams, and demonstrate adaptability
- Experience in prioritising and delivering continuous improvement initiatives and projects
- Deep experience and understanding of reliability-based maintenance & practical problem solving
- Expresses interest and potential to be an emerging leader
- A manual “C” class driver’s license

Located 50km north-west of Newman, Hope Downs 4 is a joint venture managed and operated by Rio Tinto, working in conjunction with nearby site Hope Downs 1. Hope Downs 4 provides excellent career growth and opportunities and the village provides excellent facilities for its FIFO workers.
